1.
Problem verification:
Problem verification
?1.
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
?2.
Clear the DTC with the HDS.
Clear DTC
?4.
Hold the engine speed at 3,000 rpm without load (in neutral) until the radiator fan comes on.
?5.
Select the Electric Waste Gate in the INSPECTION MENU with the HDS.

Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC P003A or P0046 indicated?
2.
Turbocharger check:
Turbocharger check
?1.
Check for the foreign materials at the turbocharger wastegate control actuator link part and the damage on the exhaust chamber cover.
Is there foreign materials at the turbocharger wastegate control actuator link part or the damage on the exhaust chamber cover?
Repair the turbocharger wastegate control actuator or the exhaust chamber cover, then go to step 1.?
3.
Turbocharger wastegate control actuator check:

Select the Electric Waste Gate in the INSPECTION MENU with the HDS.

Visually inspect the operation of the turbocharger wastegate control actuator.
Does the turbocharger wastegate control actuator operate?
4.
Turbocharger wastegate control actuator position sensor check:

?1.
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
?2.
Disconnect the following connector.
Turbocharger 5P connector
?3.
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
?4.
Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
Vehicle ON mode
Turbocharger 5P connector: disconnected
Test point 1
Turbocharger 5P connector (female terminals) No. 2:
Test point 2
Turbocharger 5P connector (female terminals) No. 3:
Is there about 5.0 V?
The turbocharger wastegate control actuator position sensor is OK. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting, or
substitute a known-good PCM , then recheck. If DTC P003A and/or P0046 goes away and the PCM was substituted,
replace the original PCM .?
