DTC Troubleshooting: C1640-92, C1641-92, C1642-92, C1643-92
DTC C1640-92: Left Front Damper Solenoid Current Characteristic Abnormality
DTC C1641-92: Right Front Damper Solenoid Current Characteristic Abnormality
DTC C1642-92: Left Rear Damper Solenoid Current Characteristic Abnormality
DTC C1643-92: Right Rear Damper Solenoid Current Characteristic Abnormality
NOTE:
When the solenoid coil temperature rises during circuit driving or sporty driving, the DTC might be stored. That time, do not replace parts, because it is not a malfunction.

1.
Problem verification:

Problem verification
?1.
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

?2.
Clear the DTC with the HDS.

?3.
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then to the ON mode.

?4.
Wait for 10 seconds or more.

?5.
Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC C1640-92, C1641-92, C1642-92 or C1643-92 indicated?

YES

The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.

NO

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Refer to intermittent failures troubleshooting. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.?
2.
Connector check:

Connector check
?1.
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

?2.
Check for loose terminals and poor connections in the following connectors.
Adaptive damper control unit 24P connector
Appropriate damper actuator 2P connector

Is the connector OK?

YES

Go to step 3

NO

Repair loose terminals or poor connections. Then clear the DTC by using the HDS and recheck DTC C1640-92, C1641- 92, C1642-92, and C1643-92. If DTC C1640-92, C1641-92, C1642-92, and C1643-92 is not confirmed, troubleshooting is complete.?
3.
Adaptive damper actuator internal resistance check:

Adaptive damper actuator internal resistance check
?1.
Disconnect the following connector.
Appropriate damper actuator 2P connector

?2.
On the actuator side, measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
Appropriate damper actuator 2P connector: disconnected
Test point 1
Appropriate damper actuator 2P connector (male terminals) No. 1:
Test point 2
Appropriate damper actuator 2P connector (male terminals) No. 2:

Is the resistance within 2.65±0.2 ??

YES

Check for loose terminals and poor connections in the adaptive damper control unit 24P connector. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. If they are OK, replace the adaptive damper control unit.?

NO

Replace the appropriate damper unit.?
