The LKAS and ACC indicators (amber) will blink if the aiming process is not completed correctly. If DTCs are indicated, do the indicated DTC troubleshooting first. If the DTCs are not repaired, you cannot complete the multipurpose camera aiming procedure. However, if you have the following DTCs, proceed with the aiming procedure.

?
Dynamic Camera Aiming Incomplete: DTC B2A60-52
?
Static Camera Aiming Incomplete: DTC B2A60-54

If the vehicle you are aiming was involved in a collision or if you suspect the alignment is out of specifications, you must perform a wheel alignment prior to aiming the multipurpose camera.

Conditions for the aiming environment:

?
Aiming should be done on a flat space.
?
Amount of space require in front of the vehicle:
7 m (23 ft) measured from the front bumper
4 m (13 ft) in width
1.5 m (4.9 ft) in height, measured from the floor
?
Make sure the vehicle is not facing any direct light source as this will affect the static camera aiming.
?
Make sure there are no black and white checkered or dark and light alternating patterns directly behind the targets as this will affect the static camera aiming.

Set up the vehicle:

?
Aiming requires the HDS.
?
Do not put any objects on the dashboard.
?
Remove all cargo from the vehicle except the tool kit and the spare tire.
?
Make sure that there are no stains, dust, or dirt on the lens of the multipurpose camera unit and the windshield area where the camera is mounted.
?
Make sure that all doors are closed.
?
Make sure the suspension has not been modified.
?
Make sure all the tire sizes are correct and that their pressure is correct.
?
Make sure the fuel tank is full.
?
Make sure the steering wheel is pointed straight ahead, and do not turn it after setting the vehicle.
?
Shift the transmission to P position/mode, and apply the parking brake.

When marking on the floor surface, use suitable tape to mark the exact locations.

Prepare these items:

?
HDS
?
Tape measure and ruler
?
Felt-tip pen
?
Tape
?
String

1. Before Aiming - Set

Marking of the Center Target Position

2.
Place a string (A) between point Z1 and point Y1, and tape both ends of the string on the floor surface.

NOTE: Repeat this step for the opposite side for points Z2 and Y2.

3.
Measure and make a new point V1 on the floor surface in front of the vehicle, 6,000 mm (236.22 in) from point Z1.

4.
Pull one end of the string to the new point, V1 and tape it to the floor surface.

NOTE: Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the opposite side to mark the new point V2.

5.
Set the string (A) between point V1 and point V2, and tape both ends of the string on the floor surface.

6.
Pull up the center-line cord (B) while aligning the cord to the centerline of the centering stand and mark a new point V3 where the cord intersects the string.

Special Tools Set-Up, Target Pattern Surface Height Adjustment, and Positioning

7.
Set-up the target:

?1.
Install the aluminum stand pole (A) onto the stand (B).

NOTE: The PVC stand pole is too low to align the multipurpose camera. You must use the aluminum stand pole 07AAK-5K0A120.

?2.
Route the cord through the collar (C) and place it on the aiming stand.

?3.
Install the attachment bracket (D) onto the stand pole.

?4.
Assemble the target holders (E).

8.
Install the target holder assemblies onto the attachment bracket (one on each side), with the target mounting holes (A) facing toward the vehicle.

NOTE: Make sure the horizontal poles are fully seated against the attachment bracket.

9.
Install the targets onto the horizontal poles.

10.
Check the height (950 mm (37.40 in)) of all three targets at the center mark (A). The center target should be the same height as the outer targets. If necessary, adjust the center target by moving the attachment bracket up or down on the stand pole to match the heights of the outer targets.

11.
Place the aiming target assembly on point V3.

NOTE: Make sure the vertical poles (C) is placed on the string (D).

Choosing the Setting Value of the Front Wheel Arch Height

12.
Measure the right and left front wheel arch height "H1" from the floor surface to the top-center of the wheel arch.

13.
Calculate the average value between the left and right front wheel arch height (H1). This average is referenced as "H2".

Example

Left wheel arch height
: 643.1 mm (25.319 in)
Right wheel arch height
: 648.1 mm (25.516 in)
H2 ? (643.1 mm (25.319 in)?648.1 mm (25.516 in)) / 2 ? 645.6 mm (25.417 in)

14.
Subtract the front wheel arch height standard value "H3" from the average value of "H2".
H ? H2 ? H3

Wheel Arch Height Standard Value "H3":
648.1 mm (25.516 in)

Example

H ? 645.6 mm (25.417 in) ? 648.1 mm (25.516 in) ??2.5 mm (?0.10 in)

15.
Refer to the following table to determine the difference "H" between the mean height of the front wheel arch "H2" and the standard height "H3".

Setting value number
Choose the value H from following ranges
(1)
?5 mm (0.20 in) ? H ??15 mm (0.59 in)
(2)
?5 mm (?0.20 in) ? H ??5 mm (0.20 in)
(3)
?15 mm (?0.59 in) ? H ??5 mm (?0.20 in)
(4)
?25 mm (?0.98 in) ? H ??15 mm (?0.59 in)
(5)
?35 mm (?1.38 in) ? H ??25 mm (?0.98 in)

Example

H ??2.5 mm (?0.10 in)

The setting value number which corresponds to the numerical value is (2).

NOTE:
Use this setting value number when choosing the front wheel arch height in the HDS.
If the measured value exceeds ?15 mm (0.59 in) or less than ?35 mm (?1.38 in), the multipurpose camera aiming will not work. Check for frame/suspension damage or modification.
