*(07AAJ-STKA220/07AAJ-TK8A100/07AAJ-STKA200): Stand 07AAJ-TK8A100 with Reflector Set 07AAJ-STKA200 or Stand Set 07AAJ-STKA220 can be used for aiming.

NOTE:
The millimeter wave radar must be re-aimed if the millimeter wave radar is removed or replaced. The ACC indicator comes on if the aiming process is not completed correctly. If DTCs are indicated, do the indicated DTCs first. If the DTCs are not repaired, you cannot complete the millimeter wave radar aiming procedure:

?
Two kinds of aiming procedures must be performed for the radar to be re-aimed; the vertical radar aiming, mechanically done using a level gauge and the horizontal radar aim, electronically done using the HDS.
?
The millimeter wave radar has a self-diagnosis function and if the mounting angle of the millimeter wave radar is outside of the horizontal auto-aiming range, it sends the failure information to the multipurpose camera unit.

If DTCs are indicated, do the indicated DTCs troubleshooting first. If the DTCs are not repaired, you cannot complete the millimeter wave radar aiming procedure. However, if you have the following DTC, proceed with the aiming procedure.

?
Millimeter Wave Radar Aiming Incomplete: DTC P2583-54

If the vehicle you are aiming was involved in a collision or if you suspect the alignment is out of specifications, you must perform a wheel alignment prior to aiming the millimeter wave radar.
Conditions for the aiming environment:

?
Aiming should be on level ground in a wide open space to avoid errors caused by reflecting objects.
?
Amount of space require in front of the vehicle:
10 m (33 ft) measured from the front bumper
4 m (13 ft) in width
1.5 m (4.9 ft) in height, measured from the floor

When marking on the floor surface, use suitable tape to mark the exact locations.
Prepare these items:

?
HDS
?
Tape measure and ruler
?
Felt-tip pen
?
Tape
?
String

3. Millimeter Wave Radar - Vertical Radar Aim

NOTE:
Aiming the millimeter wave radar requires the HDS.
Clean the surface of the millimeter wave radar.
Make sure the steering wheel is pointed straight ahead, and do not turn it after setting up the vehicle.

NOTE: The vertical radar aiming cannot be set correctly if the vehicle is parked on a slope with more than one degree of horizontal slope. Use the level gauge to ensure inspection site is within this parameter.

1.
Put the level (A) on the millimeter wave radar.

NOTE: Use the level included in the alignment set.

2.
Turn the aiming bolt (B) with a screwdriver, and adjust the angle of the millimeter wave radar so that the air bubble in the level is centered.

NOTE: When the millimeter wave radar is adjusted on a ground that has more than one degree of horizontal slope (drainage slope), the vertical radar aiming cannot be adjusted correctly. Check the levelness of the ground, but if there is a continuous slope, then adjust the angle of the millimeter wave radar so it is parallel to the ground. Lay a ruler or other flat straight object on the ground and put the level on top to confirm the levelness of the ground.

4. Millimeter Wave Radar - Horizontal Radar Aim

2.
Place a string (A) between point Z1 and point Y1, and tape both ends of the string on the floor surface.

NOTE: Repeat this step for the opposite side for points Z2 and Y2.

3.
Measure and make a new point V1 on the floor surface in front of the vehicle, 4,000 mm (157.48 in) from point Z1.

4.
Pull one end of the string to the new point, V1 and tape it to the floor surface.

NOTE: Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the opposite side to mark the new point V2.

5.
Set the string (A) between point V1 and point V2, and tape both ends of the string on the floor surface.

6.
Pull up the center-line cord (B) while aligning the cord to the centerline of the centering stand and mark a new point V3 where the cord intersects the string.

7.
Route the cord through the collar (A) and place it on the aiming stand. Then install the reflector on the aiming stand.

8.
Adjust the tip of the reflector pointer (A) so that it is aligned with the center of the emblem.

9.
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

10.
Connect the HDS to the DLC (A) located under the driver's side of the dashboard.

11.
Make sure the HDS communicates with the vehicle and the multipurpose camera unit. If it does not, go to the DLC circuit troubleshooting.

12.
Check for DTCs with the HDS.

NOTE: Troubleshoot any DTCs first before proceeding. If DTC P2583-54 is indicated, proceed with the aiming procedure.

13.
In the DRIVING SUPPORT menu, select INTEGRATED DRIVER SUPPORT system, then ADJUSTMENT, then select Radar Aiming on the HDS and follow the screen prompts.

14.
Press ENTER on the HDS to enter the aiming mode.

15.
The MID will indicate the number 4 on the display for a few seconds, then displays NO TARGET.

16.
Make sure the MID indicates NO TARGET on its display.

NOTE: If NO TARGET is not indicated, the stand set is placed in front of the vehicle or there is an unwanted radar reflection in front of the vehicle in the range of the radar. Make sure the stand set is set aside away from the range of the radar until you are instructed to place it in front of the vehicle. If you are still getting an unwanted radar reflection, stack tires about 1.5 m (4.9 ft) in height in front of either the immovable object, such as a pole, or in front of any object causing the unwanted reflections. The tires will block the radar reflections. Make sure NO TARGET appears on the MID. If it still does not appear, move the vehicle to a different location until NO TARGET appears on the MID.

17.
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

18.
Place the stand set (A) on point V3.

NOTE: When the stand set is placed, the MID will display RADAR OK with code 100.

19.
Press ENTER on the HDS to start the horizontal radar aiming.

20.
Confirm THE RADAR AIMING HAS BEEN COMPLETE on the HDS. After adjustment, confirm the MID, and finalize the horizontal radar aiming (end the aiming process on the HDS).

NOTE: The result of horizontal radar aiming can be confirmed by the HDS or the MID.
When the target is out of range, the horizontal radar aiming is not complete. The MID will display NO TARGET. If the aiming failure code 120, 122, 123, or 124 is indicated, the aiming target is not set correctly.
Inspect the millimeter wave radar mounting for bent or damaged parts. Verify the vertical radar aiming, and reset the aiming target if necessary.
The aiming information obtained is stored in the millimeter wave radar.

Horizontal Radar Aiming Failure Codes (if the horizontal radar aiming is incomplete)

NOTE: If the horizontal radar aiming is incomplete, the MID indicates a horizontal radar aiming failure code. The multipurpose camera unit does not store the horizontal radar aiming failure code and cannot be read with the HDS, so note the code before turning the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

Aiming failure code (on the MID)
Cause
How to solve
120
Two or more aiming targets exist.
Remove all reflective objects except the correct special tools, and repeat the aiming procedure.
122
The distance of the aiming target is out of specification.
Set the distance to the aiming target 4,000 mm (157.48 in), and repeat the aiming procedure.
123
The aiming target is moved.
Do the aiming procedure again.
124
The angle of the millimeter wave radar is exceeding the adjustable range or the right and left position of the aiming target is out of the specified range.
Inspect and adjust the millimeter wave radar mounting position or reset the aiming target at the correct position, and repeat the aiming procedure.
