Engine Oil Pan Removal and Installation
5. A/C Compressor - Remove


1.
Disconnect the connector (A).

2.
Remove the A/C compressor (B).

NOTE:
Do not disconnect the A/C hoses.
Do not bend the A/C hoses excessively.
Move the A/C compressor away to the inner fender side, then hang it with a wire tie.

Remove the clutch case cover/torque converter cover (A) and the transmission mounting bolts (B).

Remove the oil pan mounting bolts.





3.
Using a flat blade screwdriver, separate the oil pan from the engine block in the places shown.

Remove the oil pan.

1. Oil Pan - Install

Remove all of the old liquid gasket from the oil pan mating surfaces, the bolts, and the bolt holes.

Clean and dry the oil pan mating surfaces.

3.
Apply liquid gasket, (P/N 08718-0003, 08718-0004, or 08718-0009) to the engine block mating surface of the oil pan, and to the inside edge of the threaded bolt holes. Install the component within 5 minutes of applying the liquid gasket.

NOTE:
Apply a 2.5 mm (0.098 in) diameter bead of liquid gasket along the broken line (A).
If too much time has passed after applying the liquid gasket, remove the old liquid gasket and residue, then reapply new liquid gasket.





4.
Install the oil pan (A) with a new O-ring (B).

Tighten the bolts in three steps; tighten the bolts until the bolts sit on the oil pan, tighten the bolts until the gasket is compressed, tighten the bolts to specified torque. Wipe off the excess liquid gasket on the each side of crankshaft pulley and flywheel/drive plate.

NOTE:
Wait at least 30 minutes before filling the engine with oil.
Do not run the engine for at least 3 hours after installing the oil pan.

Specified torque
12 N·m (1.2 kgf·m, 9 lbf·ft)

Install the clutch case cover/torque converter cover (A) and the transmission mounting bolts (B).

Install the A/C compressor (A).

2.
Connect the connector (B).
