Check for CAN gateway system DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC U0029-00, U0047-00, or U3000-49 indicated?

     
YES
     
     
     
     
NO
     
     
     
Go to step 3.

EPS system DTC check:

EPS system DTC check

Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

?2.
Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Go to step 4.

Fuse check 1:

Fuse check 1

Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

?2.
Check the following fuse.

Is the fuse OK?

     
YES
     
     
     
The fuse is OK. Reinstall the fuse, then go to step 5.
     
NO
     
     
     
Replace the fuse. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then the OFF (LOCK) mode. If the fuse blows again, repair the short to ground on the No. B29 fuse circuit.?

Check the following fuse.

Is the fuse OK?

     
YES
     
     
     
The fuse is OK. Reinstall the fuse, then go to step 6.
     
NO
     
     
     
Replace the fuse. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then the OFF (LOCK) mode. If the fuse blows again, repair the short to ground on the No. C39 fuse circuit.?

Gauge control module operation check:

Gauge control module operation check

Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

?2.
Check if all of the gauge indicators come on for a few seconds.

Do the indicator come on?

     
YES
     
     
     
Go to step 7.
     
NO
     
     
     
7.
Open wire check (IG1 OPTION line):

Open wire check (IG1 OPTION line)
?1.
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

?2.
Disconnect the following connector.
Multipurpose camera unit 20P connector

?3.
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

?4.
Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
Vehicle ON mode
 
Multipurpose camera unit 20P connector: disconnected
Test point 1
Test point 2
Body ground

Is there battery voltage?

     
YES
     
     
     
Go to step 8.
     
NO
     
     
     
Repair an open in the IG1 OPTION wire between the No. C39 fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box and the multipurpose camera unit.?
8.
Open wire check (GND line):

Open wire check (GND line)
?1.
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

?2.
Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
 
Multipurpose camera unit 20P connector: disconnected
Test point 1
Test point 2
Body ground

Is there continuity?

     
YES
     
     
     
Go to step 9.
     
NO
     
     
     
Repair an open in the GND wire between the multipurpose camera unit and body ground (G401), or repair poor ground (G401).?
9.
F-CAN circuit communication check:

F-CAN circuit communication check
?1.
Reconnect the following connector.
Multipurpose camera unit 20P connector

?2.
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

?3.
Select the FUNCTION TEST in the CAN gateway with the HDS, then select the F-CAN Bus Connected Unit Check.

  

Which result is indicated?

     
Gauge control module (Bus A) is Not Available
     
     
     
Go to step 10.
     
Multipurpose camera unit (Bus B) is Not Available
     
     
     
Go to step 11.
     
Multipurpose camera unit and gauge control module are Detected
     
     
     
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Refer to intermittent failures troubleshooting.?
10.
Open wire check (F-CAN A_L line, F-CAN A_H line):

Open wire check (F-CAN A_L line, F-CAN A_H line)

Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

?2.
Disconnect the following connectors.
CAN gateway 16P connector
Gauge control module 32P connector

?3.
Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
 
CAN gateway 16P connector: disconnected
 
Gauge control module 32P connector: disconnected
Test point 1
CAN gateway 16P connector (female terminals) No. 3:
Test point 2

Test point 1
CAN gateway 16P connector (female terminals) No. 11:
Test point 2


Is there continuity?

     
YES
     
     
     
Check for loose terminals in the CAN gateway 16P connector and the gauge control module 32P connector. If they are OK, substitute a known-good gauge control module, then retest. If the indicators come on then go off after substitution, replace the original gauge control module.?
     
NO
     
     
     
Repair an open in the F-CAN A_H wire or the F-CAN A_L wire between the gauge control module and the CAN gateway.?

Open wire check (F-CAN B_H line, F-CAN B_L line):

Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

Disconnect the following connectors.
CAN gateway 16P connector
Multipurpose camera unit 20P connector

Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

Multipurpose camera unit 20P connector: disconnected

Is there continuity?

     
YES
     
     
     
Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the CAN gateway and the multipurpose camera unit. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. If they are OK, replace the multipurpose camera unit.?
     
NO
     
     
     
Repair an open in the F-CAN B_H wire or the F-CAN B_L wire between the multipurpose camera unit and the CAN gateway.?
