Select/Reset/Information Switch Test

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before doing repairs or service.

1. Driver's Airbag - Remove

Remove the driver's airbag.

2. Select/Reset/Information Switch - Remove

Completely loosen the screws (A).
2.
Remove the screws (B).
3.
Remove the select/reset/information switch (C).
4.
Disconnect these connectors.
Select/Reset/Information switch connector
Cruise control combination switch connector

3. Select/Reset/Information Switch - Test
1.
Measure the resistance between terminals No. 3 and No. 4 in each switch position according to the table.

If the resistance is not as specified, replace the select/reset/information switch (A).

Check the select/reset/information switch light by connecting battery power to terminal No. 2 (or No. 1) and ground to terminal No. 5 (or No. 6). The select/reset/information switch light should come on.
4.
If the select/reset/information switch light does not come on, the LED is faulty; replace the select/reset/information switch.

4. Select/Reset/Information Switch - Install

Connect these connectors.
Select/Reset/Information switch connector
Cruise control combination switch connector
2.
Install the select/reset/information switch (A).

5. Driver's Airbag - Install

Install the driver's airbag.
