HandsFreeLink System Self-Diagnostic Function
How to Check the HandsFreeLink System Status (without touch screen)
1.
Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

Make sure the audio menu appears on the screen.

3.
Make sure the audio unit is turned off.

4.
Press and hold the preset No. 1 and No. 6 buttons.

5.
While holding the buttons, push the VOLUME/POWER knob.

Release the buttons, and the self-diagnosis begins (Diag is displayed).

7.
Press and hold the PHONE button for more than 5 seconds to enter the HFL diagnostic mode (DIAG is displayed).
8.
When you are in the HFL diagnostic mode, pressing a preset button starts the diagnostic mode that is assigned to that preset button. To exit this mode, go to step 10. Once you exit this test, you must start again at step 1.

No. 1 button: The HFL system enters the microphone, HFL switch and HFL status mode
No. 2 button: The HFL system displays the Bluetooth module software version
No. 3 button: HandsFreeLink control unit parts number display mode
(the HandsFreeLink control unit is built into the audio unit. in this case, the diagnostic screen displays "HFL INTERNAL" )

Check the Microphone, HFL switch and HFL status. Each time you press the No. 1 button, the screen displays HFL status in following order:

To end the self-diagnostic function, turn the audio unit off, or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
How to Check the HandsFreeLink System Status (with touch screen)
NOTE:
The self-diagnostic function can only be initiated while the HFL system is in its idle state.
The self-diagnostic function starts after you press and hold the HANG-UP/BACK button on the HFL switch for 5 seconds, and ends if the HandsFreeLink control unit returns to its idle state.

Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

Press and hold the HANG-UP/BACK button (A) for more than 5 seconds.
3.
When the HFL system enters the self-diagnostic function, the following will occurs:

If the HFL system does not respond, go to HFL does not respond troubleshooting:

If the HFL system is OK, and there are no HFL DTCs, the HFL system says, ‘‘The HFT is OK.’’
If there are any HFL DTCs stored, the HFL system says, ‘‘The HFT is NG.’’ Check for HFL DTCs.
