Problem verification:

Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode. |

Clear the DTC with the HDS.

?3. |
Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), then turn it to ON (II) again, or select the OFF mode, then the ON mode. |
?4. |
Wait 60 seconds or more. |
?5. |
Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC 83-01 or 83-02 indicated?

|
|
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2. |
|
|
|
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.? |

Open wire check (F-CAN_H, F-CAN_L lines) 1:

Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode. |

Disconnect the following connectors.
EPS control unit connector A (11P) |
VSA modulator-control unit 21P connector or VSA modulator-control unit 38P connector | |

Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

The F-CAN_H and F-CAN_L wires are not open. Go to step 3. |
|
|
|
Repair an open in the wire between the EPS control unit and the VSA modulator-control unit.? |

Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

Repair an open in the wire between the EPS control unit and the steering angle sensor.? |
