NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A.

Wiper/washers system check:

Turn the windshield wiper switch to the OFF position, check the parameter(s) below with the HDS.

Determine possible failure area (wiper/washer switch, others):

Determine possible failure area (wiper/washer switch, others)

Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

Disconnect the following connector.

?3.
Check the parameter(s) below with the HDS.

3.
Shorted wire check (FR WIPER INT&LO SW, FR WIPER HI&LO SW, FR WIPER MIST SW lines):

Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

?2.
Disconnect the following connector.

?3.
Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2 individually.
Test condition
IG LOCK (0) or OFF mode
Wiper/washer switch 10P connector: disconnected
Under-dash fuse/relay box connector N (20P): disconnected
Test circuit
FR WIPER INT&LO SW
Test point 1
Under-dash fuse/relay box connector N (20P) No. 3 (TAN)
Test point 2
Body ground

Test circuit
FR WIPER HI&LO SW
Test point 1
Under-dash fuse/relay box connector N (20P) No. 2 (WHT)

Is there continuity?

     
YES
     
     
     
Repair a short to ground in the wire.?
     
NO
     
     
     
The FR WIPER INT&LO SW, FR WIPER HI&LO SW, and FR WIPER MIST SW wires are OK. Faulty MICU; replace the under-dash fuse/relay box.?

Shorted wire check (FR WIPER MIST SW to FR WIPER HI&LO SW, FR WIPER HI&LO SW to FR WIPER INT&LO SW, FR WIPER MIST SW to FR WIPER INT&LO SW lines):
