3. Construction - Check

NOTE:
This section explains the procedures after removal of all related parts. For the related parts' removal procedure, refer to the appropriate Service Manual.
The component replacement procedure described here is only for new Honda-supplied parts, as needed, according to the area and the degree of damage on the body.

Front Wheelhouse Upper Member

NOTE:
Replace the wheelhouse upper member separator.
Check the front damper extension A/B positions for damage. If necessary, replace them as an assembly.

Front Wheelhouse Side Member (Front Damper Extension Set)

NOTE:
Remove the front wheelhouse upper member.
Replace the front damper extension set and front bulkhead extension at the same time.
Check the front wheelhouse, the transmission mount stiffener (left side), and the front damper housing positions for damage. If necessary, replace them as an assembly.
If necessary, replace the front bumper beam extension flange, the front subframe front bracket, the front subframe front plate, and the front side frame support.

Front Wheelhouse and Front Damper Housing (Front Damper Housing Set)

NOTE:
Remove the front damper extension set.
When removing the front damper housing set, drill the welded point [X] at the joint for the front damper base and the dashboard upper from under the front damper base.

NOTE:
Confirm the sheet thickness, tensile strength, and existence of the zinc treatment of both sides, and set the welder to conform to the welding conditions by referring to Front Body Construction.

1. Body Dimensions - Check

Positioning the replacement parts.
Clamp or tack weld the new parts into position.

2. External Parts Fitting Positions - Check

Temporarily install the related parts, then check for differences in level and clearance. Check the external parts fitting positions. Make sure the body lines flow smoothly. Remove the clamped part.

Front Wheelhouse and Damper Housing

3. Damper Housing Set - Install

1.
Weld the dashboard upper member extension (A) and the front damper base (B) to the dashboard upper side member (C) , the dashboard upper side member extension (D), and the dashboard upper (E).

( )*: Welding positions with high-strength steel (except 1500 MPa) parts. Confirm the plug welding conditions.

2.
From the under the damper base, weld the front damper base (A) and the front damper housing (B) to the dashboard upper (C) and the wiper pivot bracket (D).

3.
From the passenger's compartment, weld the dashboard lower (A) and the front damper housing (B).

4.
Weld the front damper housing set (A) to the front side frame (B) and front side backplate (C).

( )*: Welding positions with high-strength steel (except 1500 MPa) parts. Confirm the plug welding conditions.

Front Damper Extension

4. Front Damper Extension Set - Install

1.
Weld the front damper extension A, the front damper extension stiffener (B), the dashboard upper side member extension (C), the dashboard upper (D), front damper base (E), and the front wheelhouse (F).

( )*: Welding positions with high-strength steel (except 1500 MPa) parts. Confirm the plug welding conditions.
