Catalytic Converter Removal and Installation

NOTE:

Due to the high temperatures of the exhaust system, the exhaust nut, studs and bolts may seize preventing easy removal. If you encounter a seized condition, do the following.

Apply rust penetrant to the nut/stud or bolt.
Allow the penetrant to sit. The amount of time may vary.
Lightly tap the nut/stud or bolt with a hammer.
Slowly loosen the nut or bolt.
If the nut or bolt still will not loosed, repeat steps to .

6. TWC Bracket - Remove

Note for installation

Before installing the TWC brackets (A), confirm the bolts and nuts fixing the TWC to the turbocharger are tightened to the specified torque.
Tighten the TWC bracket mounting bolts to the specified torque in the numbered sequence shown.

NOTE: Carefully remove the TWC assembly to lower side of the vehicle.
