Valve Body Assembly Removal and Installation

NOTE:
Keep all foreign particles out of the transmission.
The valve body assembly and the following parts are not available separately. Replace them as a set.
?CVT clutch pressure control solenoid valve
?CVT drive pulley pressure control solenoid valve
?CVT driven pulley pressure control solenoid valve
?CVT lock-up clutch control solenoid valve
?Shift solenoid valve B

NOTE: The actual transmission fluid (HCF-2) capacity will vary from the specified capacity based on the length of time the transmission fluid pan is off the transmission. Avoid leaving the transmission fluid pan off for extend periods of time.

6. Transmission Fluid Strainer - Remove

1.
Remove the transmission fluid strainer (A) with the O-ring (B).

2.
Clean the inlet opening (A) of the transmission fluid strainer (B) thoroughly with compressed air.

3.
Check that it is in good condition and that the inlet opening is not clogged.

4.
Test the strainer by pouring clean transmission fluid through the inlet opening, and replace it if it is clogged or damaged.

7. Valve Body Assembly - Remove

1.
Remove the valve body assembly (A).

NOTE: Do not damage the solenoid wire harness (B).

2.
Disconnect the connector (A).

NOTE: Check the connector for corrosion, dirt, or oil, and clean or repair if necessary.

9. Transmission Fluid Pipe - Remove

1.
Remove the transmission fluid pipes (A) with the O-rings (B).

NOTE:
Keep all foreign particles out of the transmission.
The valve body assembly and the following parts are not available separately. Replace them as a set.
?CVT clutch pressure control solenoid valve
?CVT drive pulley pressure control solenoid valve
?CVT driven pulley pressure control solenoid valve
?CVT lock-up clutch control solenoid valve
?Shift solenoid valve B
Apply a light coat of clean transmission fluid on all O-rings before installation.

1. Transmission Fluid Pipe - Install

1.
Install the transmission fluid pipes (A) with new O-rings (B).

NOTE: Be careful not to damage the O-rings while installing the transmission fluid pipes.

3. Valve Body Assembly - Install

1.
Connect the connector (A).

2.
Install the valve body assembly (A).

NOTE: Be careful not to damage the solenoid wire harness (B) and the O-rings while installing the valve body assembly.

4. Transmission Fluid Strainer - Install

1.
Install the transmission fluid strainer (A) with a new O-ring (B).

NOTE: Be careful not to damage the solenoid wire harness and the O-ring while installing the transmission fluid strainer.
