Warm Up TWC Removal and Installation
Front Bank (Bank 2)

1. Under-Floor TWC - Remove

Remove the under-floor TWC.

2. Front WU-TWC Bracket - Loosen
Loosen or remove the front WU-TWC bracket mounting bolts (A).


3. EGR Pipe - Remove

Remove the EGR pipe.

4. Engine Cover - Remove

Remove the engine cover.

5. Front A/F Sensor (Sensor 1) - Remove

Remove the front A/F sensor (Sensor 1).

6. A/C Condenser Fan Shroud Assembly - Remove

Remove the A/C condenser fan shroud assembly.

7. Front WU-TWC - Remove
1.
Remove the spark plug heat insulator (A).
2.
Disconnect the No. 5 cylinder ignition coil connector (B), then remove the No. 5 cylinder ignition coil (C).
3.
Carefully remove the front WU-TWC (D) assembly.

8. WU-TWC Cover - Remove
Remove the cover (A) from the front WU-TWC.


Rear Bank (Bank 1)

1. Under-Floor TWC - Remove

Remove the under-floor TWC.

2. Rear Secondary HO2S (Sensor 2) - Remove

Remove rear secondary HO2S (Sensor 2).

3. Rear WU-TWC Bracket - Loosen
Loosen or remove the rear WU-TWC bracket mounting bolts (A).


4. CKP Sensor Cover and Bracket - Remove

Disconnect the CKP sensor connector (A).
3.
Remove the bracket (B).

5. Cowl Cover - Remove

Remove the cowl cover.

6. Engine Cover - Remove

Remove the engine cover.

7. Rear A/F Sensor (Sensor 1) - Remove

Remove the rear A/F sensor (Sensor 1).

8. Power Steering Heat Shield - Remove
Remove the power steering heat shield (A).


9. Rear WU-TWC - Remove
1.
Disconnect the following connectors.
EVAP canister purge valve connector (A)
Rocker arm oil pressure switch B (Bank 1) connector (B) (J35Y1 engine)
Rocker arm oil control solenoid B (Bank 1) connector (C) (J35Y1 engine)
Rocker arm oil pressure switch A (Bank 1) connector (D)
Rocker arm oil control solenoid A (Bank 1) connector (E)
Transmission fluid pressure switch D connector (F)
Transmission fluid pressure switch A connector (G)

Remove the spark plug heat shield (H).
3.
Disconnect the ignition coil connectors (I), then remove the No. 2 cylinder ignition coil (J).
4.
Remove the bolts (K), then move the harness holder (L) to outside of the vehicle.
5.
Carefully remove the rear WU-TWC (M) assembly.

10. WU-TWC Cover - Remove
Remove the cover (A) from the front WU-TWC.


Front Bank (Bank 2)

1. WU-TWC Cover - Install
Install the cover (A) on the front WU-TWC.


2. Front WU-TWC - Install
1.
Carefully install the front WU-TWC (A) assembly with a new gasket (B) and new self-locking nuts (C).
2.
Install the No. 5 cylinder ignition coil (D), then connect the No. 5 cylinder ignition coil connector (E).
3.
Install the spark plug heat insulator (F).

3. A/C Condenser Fan Shroud Assembly - Install

Install the A/C condenser fan shroud assembly.

4. Front A/F Sensor (Sensor 1) - Install

Install the front A/F sensor (Sensor 1).

5. Engine Cover - Install

Install the engine cover.

6. EGR Pipe - Install

Install the EGR pipe.

7. Front WU-TWC Bracket - Tighten
1.
Tighten the front WU-TWC bracket mounting bolts until the bracket and the bolts are contacted.
2.
Tighten the mounting bolts in the numbered sequence shown.

8. Under-Floor TWC - Install

Install the under-floor TWC.

Rear Bank (Bank 1)

1. WU-TWC Cover - Install
Install the cover (A) on the rear WU-TWC.


2. Rear WU-TWC - Install
1.
Carefully install the rear WU-TWC (A) assembly with a new gasket (B) and new self-locking nuts (C).
2.
Install the harness holder (D).
3.
Install the No. 2 cylinder ignition coil (E), then connect the ignition coil connectors (F).
4.
Install the spark plug heat shield (G).
5.
Connect the following connectors.
Transmission fluid pressure switch A connector (H)
Transmission fluid pressure switch D connector (I)
Rocker arm oil control solenoid A (Bank 1) connector (J)
Rocker arm oil pressure switch A (Bank 1) connector (K)
Rocker arm oil control solenoid B (Bank 1) connector (L) (J35Y1 engine)
Rocker arm oil pressure switch B (Bank 1) connector (M) (J35Y1 engine)
EVAP canister purge valve connector (N)

3. Power Steering Heat Shield - Install
Install the power steering heat shield (A).


4. Rear A/F Sensor (Sensor 1) - Install

Install the rear A/F sensor (Sensor 1).

5. Engine Cover - Install

Install the engine cover.

6. Cowl Cover - Install

Install the cowl cover.

7. CKP Sensor Cover and Bracket - Install
1.
Install the bracket (A).
2.
Connect the CKP sensor connector (B).


8. Rear WU-TWC Bracket - Tighten
1.
Tighten the rear WU-TWC bracket mounting bolts until the bracket and the bolts are contacted.
2.
Tighten the mounting bolts in the numbered sequence shown.

9. Rear Secondary HO2S (Sensor 2) - Install

Install rear secondary HO2S (Sensor 2).

10. Under-Floor TWC - Install

Install the under-floor TWC.
