Remove the harness cover (I).
5.
Disconnect the input shaft (mainshaft) speed sensor connector (A) and the output shaft (countershaft) speed sensor connector (B).

Remove the harness clamps (A).
7.
Disconnect the transmission fluid pressure switch A (2nd clutch) connector (A) and the transmission fluid pressure switch D (5th clutch) connector (B).

Harness Clamp Bracket - Remove
1.
Remove the harness clamp bracket (A).
2.
Remove the harness clamp bracket (A).
3.
Remove the harness clamp (A).
4.
Remove the harness holder clamps (A).
5.
Remove the harness holder bracket (B).
13.
ATF Warmer - Remove
1.
Disconnect the ATF hoses (A).
NOTE: Turn the ends of the ATF hoses up to prevent ATF from flowing out, then plug the hoses and the pipes.
2.
Remove the ATF warmer (A) without disconnecting the water bypass hoses.
14.
Shift Cable (A/T Side) - Remove
NOTE: Do not bend the shift cable excessively.
1.
Remove the spring clip (A) and the control pin (B).
2.
Remove the shift cable end (C).
3.
Check the bushing (D) in the shift cable end for proper fit and wear. If the bushing is loose or worn, replace the shift cable.
4.
Remove the shift cable bracket (A).

Harness/Connector Bracket - Remove
1.
Remove the connector bracket (A); use the bracket bolt hole (B) to attach the engine hanger balance bar front arm.
2.
Remove the harness bracket (A); use the bracket bolt hole (B) to attach the 2008 V6 attachment arm.
16.
Engine Support Hanger - Install
1.
Remove the front damper caps.
2.
Install the engine hanger balance bar (VSB02C000019). Attach the front arm (A) to the front cylinder head with a 10 mm (0.39 in) spacer (B) and a 10 x 1.25 mm bolt (C). Remove the rear arm from the engine hanger balance bar, then install the 2008 V6 attachment arm (SIL02C000033). Attach the 2008 V6 attachment arm to the rear cylinder head with a 10 mm (0.39 in) spacer (D) and an 8 x 1.25 mm bolt (E).
3.
Install the engine support hanger (AAR-T1256) onto the vehicle as shown, and attach the hook to the slotted hole in the engine hanger balance bar. Tighten the wing nut (F) by hand, and lift and support the engine/transmission.
NOTE:
Be careful when working around the windshield.
AAR-T1256 two sets required for stacking additional cross section bars.
Be careful not to damage the hood opener cable when installing the engine support hanger at the front bulkhead.
Lower Transmission Mount Bracket Mounting Bolt - Remove
Remove the lower transmission mount bracket mounting bolts (A).

Front Subframe - Remove
1.
Loosen the front subframe middle mount rubber mounting bolts (A) on both sides.
2.
Attach the subframe adapter (VSB02C000016) by looping the strap (A) over the front of the front subframe, then secure the strap with the stop (B), and tighten the wing nut (C).
3.
Raise a transmission jack and line up the slots in the arms with the bolt holes on the corner of the jack base, then tighten the bolts.
4.
Remove the front subframe (A) with the front stiffeners (B) and the rear stiffeners (C).
5.
Lower the front subframe carefully.
37.
Transmission - Support
Support the transmission with the transmission jack.
Remove the lower transmission assembly mounting bolts (A).

Transmission - Remove
1.
Check once again that the transmission is free of hoses and electrical wiring.
2.
Lower the transmission by loosening the wing nut of the engine support hanger, and tilt the engine just enough for the transmission to clear its end from the side frame.
3.
Slide the transmission away from the engine to remove it from the vehicle.
44.
Dowel Pin - Remove
Remove the 14 x 20 mm dowel pin (A) and the 10 x 20 mm dowel pin (B).
45.
Torque Converter - Remove
Remove the torque converter (A) with the O-ring (B).
NOTE: Use fender covers to avoid damaging painted surfaces.
1.
Torque Converter - Install
Install the torque converter (A) using a new O-ring (B).
NOTE: Make sure the torque converter is fully engaged on the mainshaft, the stator shaft, and the ATF pump drive gear. Failure to do so will result in severe transmission or engine damage.
2.
Dowel Pin - Install
Install the 14 x 20 mm dowel pin (A) and the 10 x 20 mm dowel pin (B).
3.
Transmission - Install
1.
Place the transmission on a transmission jack, and raise it to engine level.
Attach the subframe adapter (VSB02C000016) by looping the strap (A) over the front of the front subframe, then secure the strap with the stop (B), and tighten the wing nut (C).
2.
Raise a transmission jack and line up the slots in the arms with the bolt holes on the corner of the jack base, then tighten the bolts.
3.
Raise the front subframe (A) up to the body.
4.
Loosely install the front subframe with the front stiffeners (B) and the rear stiffeners (C) using appropriate bolts.
